Vinyasa Yoga is the connection or bonding of the breath to the body movement. Inhales take you up and inspire the mind, while exhales follow the body downward and ground the nervous system. To connect the body and breath one must concentrate the mind on the breath in order to match the body's movements. By doing this the mind and the body become one, hence the term Yoga, or "union." This practice is dynamic, challenging, fun, and invigorating and will bring one peace inside and out with dedicated practice. Namaste.
The still state of Breath is the form of God; in other words, the poised state of Breath is the abode of Peace, eternal Tranquility, Sthirattva, the equilibrium state of Consciousness, Liberation, or absolute Freedom, the ultimate Self.
"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalms 46:10
"I am the way, the truth, and the Life." John 14:6
This inner Consciousness is the way, or the inner Door, through which one can attain the pure Consciousness, the Truth, or the eternal Life, which is blessed by all the fullness of eternal Bliss, Ananda.
From Swami Satyeswarananda Giri, In the Light of Kriya
"I've known John for over 12 years and watched him grow into a strong and dedicated yoga practitioner and a passionate teacher over that time. He is a second generation yogi, having learned the ashtanga practice from his father, Dave Oliver, an old friend of mine. John has a strong background and thorough knowledge of the vinyasa system and has an infectious enthusiasm for practice and teaching. He is one of the rising stars in the yoga world today."
